Robert's design and creative style is born from two major expressions in this life. One being ART, the other, LOVE.
'As a Sculptor, I was looking for a Wedding Ring for my wife, I just couldn't find anything that expressed my emotion - privately or the feeling design integrity. So i made it, I then made a collection around form and emotion.
Robert’s history as a jeweller evolved from a three-decade career as an artist, a sculptor and photographer. The Love symbol used in his jewellery evolved as an informal graffiti mark and as an expression counter balance to some of the societal issues and intolerance. Robert uses both age old techniques at the bench and high end technology. 'I have found that by understanding the limitations of both pratices that i can use both to enhance the work', but i still love doodling with a coffee and a large sheet of paper and pencil. Thats when the glory of the sweeping curves, or the emergence of unique design come out.
